MacArthur High tennis team wins District 16-6A title

MacArthur HS Tennis Team
The MacArthur High School varsity tennis team won the District 16-6A league title to advance to the Region II Tournament, April 18-19 in Waco.

The Generals are under the direction of head coach Brandon Blake.

MacArthur finished first and second in girls singles, boys singles, mixed doubles, girls doubles and boys doubles to cruise to the league title.

In girl’s singles, Alyssa Davila finished first and Cynthia Mendez finished in second place. In boy’s singles, Eduardo Duarte finished first and Jose Rosette finished in second place. In mixed doubles, the duo of Marcial Martinez and Tatiana Hernandez finished in first place and the team of Fabian Martinez and Kayla Rios finished in second place.

In girl’s doubles, the team of Cristina Castaneda and Makayla Preston finished first and the team of Juana Mendoza and Juana Espinoza finished second.

In boy’s doubles, the team of Cristian Cortez and John Garza finished in first place and the team of Fernando Ibarra and Horacio Vences finished in second place.

The Region II Tournament will be held at the Waco Regional Tennis and Fitness Facility.
