Campus Teacher of the Year: Anderson Academy

Jacqueline Butteris

Anderson Academy - Jacqueline ButterisOne of Aldine ISD’s campus teachers of the year who will be honored at the [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”] Teacher of the Year Breakfast on March 7, 2014.

When asked about her teaching philosophy, she responded:

Every child is capable of learning and it’s my job, responsibility, and privilege, to deliver them the knowledge, skills, and strategies. Once they have those, their learning becomes self-directed and they take a more active role in their education, as well as their peers. I design lessons that engage them in their learning and activities that allow them to be independent and learn from their peers. A classroom should be a venue for collaboration between students, the teacher, and the parents.
