In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Hill Intermediate School dedicated October 28 as “Pink Out” Day.

Assistant Principal (AP) Mary Anne Melby organized the event that had everyone wearing pink.

The Student Council at the campus also got involved. The StuCo members made pink breast cancer awareness ribbon pins that they sold to students and staff members. The money raised from the ribbon sales totaled $300.00. The students donated the funds to the Susan G. Komen foundation to help with breast cancer research.

Steven Roethler praised the Student Council members. Roethler serves as sponsor of the group.

“It was an awesome fundraiser,” said Roethler. “The students enjoyed giving to such an important cause. They were very supportive and made me proud to be surrounded by such a wonderful group of kids.”
