The Volunteer Guild of the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring named 27 winners. The students competed in the museum’s eighth annual Student Art Contest and Juried Exhibition. Ricardo Colín from Anderson Academy brought home the Jurors’ Selection prize.
Laura Barousse and Sylvia de Hek awarded prizes to the winners at a ceremony held April 19 at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center. Barousse and de Hek serve as chairperson and co-chair, respectively, of the event.
A reception for the students and their parents followed at the Pearl.

There were 270 participants. They represented seven school districts and six private schools. Additionally, 18 home school students submitted entries.
Professional artists and art teachers adjudicated the students’ works.
