Aldine ISD is celebrating National School Lunch Week October 15-18 to recognize the National School Lunch Program, which serves more than 30 million children every school day. National School Lunch Week highlights the variety of dishes, flavors, and tastes that are offered daily in our schools.
During National School Lunch Week, Aldine ISD cafeterias will feature their most popular entrees throughout the week.
Listed below are just a few of the different options students can look forward to during the week:
- Elementary Schools will feature entrees like pizza; an All American Lunch Box, which includes a mini hotdog, chips, a vegetable and a fruit; and the Aldine Famous Bowl, which includes chicken, mashed potatoes and corn.
- Middle Schools will feature chicken wings for the first time.
- High Schools will feature a breaded drumstick with macaroni and cheese and chile and cheese tamales with Spanish rice.
Aldine ISD schools will celebrate in their cafeterias with special menus, events, student activities and more. Aldine ISD Child Nutrition Services serves over 84,000 meals each day.
