Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Aldine Independent School District. In order to receive full consideration in our employment process, you must either have a teaching certificate, a college degree, or 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution.

Individuals wishing to apply as a Substitute Teacher in Aldine must complete a Paraprofessional application. The following link directs you to the on-line application site Paraprofessional Application. Applicants must choose “Substitute Teacher” in the Employment Preferences  section of the on-line application.  Once an application is completed, applicants can apply for the position of Substitute Teacher in SearchSoft under available jobs.  Applicants must express their interest in a substitute position by applying specifically for the position.

Only individuals with a complete application and who have applied for the position of substitute teacher in SearchSoft will be considered for possible employment. Your application will be considered complete when all references have been returned on-line (one of which must be your current supervisor), and a copy of your official transcript has been uploaded to the application. Applicants will be selected for interviews based on application information and district needs.  An on-line interview using Hirevue will be sent to applicants that are being considered for hire.

Individuals chosen through the interview process must attend a mandatory orientation conducted by district personnel. Perspective employees must also complete fingerprint requirements and clear a criminal background check. The individual is responsible for all costs incurred with fingerprinting. Completion of the fingerprinting process is not a promise for employment with the district.

Once hired, employees will be set up to access the district’s on-line substitute system. Substitute teachers are employed in an as needed capacity, and are considered temporary employees.
