Dr. Selina Chapa was named Deputy Superintendent of the district in August 2018.
Dr. Chapa previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. She has 32 years of experience in the field of education and has spent 22 of those years with Aldine ISD.
Dr. Chapa began her educational career as third-grade teacher in United ISD. During her 10 years with UISD, she also served as a fourth-grade teacher and as an assistant principal before moving to the Houston area in 1996 when she joined Aldine ISD as an assistant principal at Dunn Elementary School. From 2003-07 she served as principal of Sammons Elementary School and in 2007 was named a Director of Human Resources. In 2014, Dr. Chapa was named Executive Director of Human Resources and in April of 2015 she was named Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
Dr. Chapa earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&I University and her master’s degree in Administration from Texas A&M International University. Dr. Chapa earned her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston.
As deputy superintendent for the district, Dr. Selina Chapa has district wide supervisory and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent of schools. Dr. Chapa oversees the following departments: buildings and construction, buildings and properties, central receiving, human resources, maintenance, police, and transportation.
