Students from four middle schools that feed into Ike got to visit the campus to get a sneak peek. The future Eagles learned about various campus program options.

It may be the spring semester, but Eisenhower High School administrators are already looking at the 2019-2020 school year. Aquilla Aubrey, the administrator of college initiatives at Eisenhower HS, coordinated the event that took place January 25.

Students from Drew Academy, Garcia Middle School, Hoffman MS, and Shotwell MS explored a variety of options to consider such as career and technical education (CTE) programs, International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and iASPIRE.

The future Eagles also learned about iASPIRE and International Baccalaureate (IB®) Diploma Program. iASPIRE is a college-readiness initiative that begins freshman year. All iASPIRE classes are held at the senior campus. The main goal is to prepare students to succeed in college. According to Aubrey, most of the students that take part in the iASPIRE program are the first in their families to attend college. In the iASPIRE class, there is a strong focus on academics, time management, critical thinking, organization, and community service. Students in iAPSRIRE begin to apply for scholarship opportunities as a freshman and continue through their senior year. Current eighth graders at the middle schools that feed into Eisenhower can apply now to be admitted into the iASPIRE program.
