Aldine ISD Students Will Not Need to Make Up Day Due to Inclement Weather
Posted on 05/13/2019

As students return to campuses on Monday, May 13 following Friday’s inclement weather day, Aldine ISD families and staff will notice that the district’s instructional calendar will have very few changes.

The district canceled school and all district activities Friday, May 10 due to inclement weather throughout the Houston area. As a result of planning for the 2018-2019 school year, students will not be required to make up the day. The district’s instructional calendar exceeds the state’s required 75,600 minutes leaving additional minutes to cover inclement weather and other emergencies.

There is one districtwide change of note. Standardized testing, originally planned to begin on Monday, May 13 will not occur. Instead, STAAR/End-of-Course (EOC) testing will start Tuesday, May 14 and conclude Friday, May 17. Some high school students will take EOC make-up tests on Monday, May 13.

Campuses will communicate their testing schedules as well as any campus activity schedule adjustments through their normal communication channels.
