Carver High, Victory Early College High Make List of Top Schools in Houston Area
Victory Early College High School — Diamond Banks advances to state event after winning first place at regional science fair.
The education website [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]Niche.com awards grades to K-12 schools and colleges across the nation. Carver High School and Victory Early College High School made the list of the top schools in the area that received the highest honors: An “A+.” “A,” or “A-.”
Niche’s grading system uses a number of factors, such as student and parent reviews, polls, graduation statistics and student-teacher ratio.
Carver High, which earned an “A-,” is a magnet school focusing on engineering, applied technology and the arts.
Victory Early College High School earned an “A.” The campus provides students with the opportunity to pursue a high school diploma and an Associate’s of Arts Degree or two years of college credit toward a Baccalaureate Degree.
Both campuses have also received national recognition. Each made the list of best high schools in the nation in U.S. News & World Report‘s rankings. Victory Early College High School earned a Gold Award and Carver High obtained a Silver Award in the [icons icon_name=”icon-external-link” icon_size=”14px”]2013 rankings.

Carver High School — Student Dejon King (far left) spent a week aboard the Nautilus in the Carribbean with Dr. Robert Ballard and his team. This formed part of the JASON Project, which named King as an Argonaut to participate in the summer adventure.
